American Realty Capital Trust ("ARCT") is ARC's flagship product. It is a Maryland corporation that qualified as a real estate investment trust ("REIT") during the taxable year ended December 31, 2008. On January 25, 2008, ARCT commenced its best efforts offering of up to $1.5 billion at a price of $10.00 per share and is now closed to new investors. During the offering period, for a potential investor to qualify to invest in our REIT, they were required to meet the following net worth and/or gross income requirements2:

  • The investor must have a net worth of at least $250,000
  • Or a gross annual income of at least $70,000 and a net worth of at least $70,000

In addition to the above-mentioned requirements, investors were also required to meet all of the following conditions:

  • a relatively long-term investment
  • not need immediate liquidity from their investment
  • not seek a short-term investment
