NEW NON-TRADED REIT SEEKS $1.5 BILLION TO INVEST IN NEW YORK CITY


American Realty Capital Advisors has filed to raise up to $1.5 billion of equity for a REIT that will pursue all commercial property types in New York City.

American Realty Capital New York Recovery REIT Inc. will look to acquire properties that it views as undervalued and hold them for resale after the economy improves and values increase. Its main focus will be on office and retail projects in Manhattan, although it will also invest in industrial, multifamily and hotel properties in the city's other boroughs.
